This Studio Pottery vase has a striking decorative finish, achieved using horsehair at the end of the pottery firing process. Fine horsehair is laid upon the freshly fired, still hot surface of the pottery, which then carbonizes leaving behind the black lightning-like effect seen on this beautiful vessel.
