Lustrous finishes create warmth. Our Open Fire Pottery Beads are each shaped by hand using ancient traditions in Sejnane, Tunisia. Clay and natural pigments are formed and fired without a kiln or oven. With a population of less than 5000, Sejnane has a pottery tradition that is carried out by women in all stages of production. The lustrous finish of this bowl is created in the firing using materials including branches and cow dung from local farms.

These ancient methods continue to be used today in Sejnane to produce terracotta household wares. These are used at home, sold locally, and play an important part in the fabric of the community. Fair Trade Sourced.
